Mosa is the first ceramic tile company in the world to have gained Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Silver certification for nearly its entire tile collection. Mosa’s externally-validated life-cycle analysis (LCA) supports the sustainable character of our tiles. The C2C label enjoys widespread recognition and contributes to positive scores for Dutch and international green building labels such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, and HQE. In various (inter)national databases, the impact of Mosa tiles on these sustainability labels is clarified.

Constructing infrastructure and buildings consumes large amounts of energy. This consumption causes large CO₂-emissions. Buildings and construction are responsible for 39% of global energy-related carbon emissions. 28% of these emissions come from the "in-use" phase of buildings – to heat, power, and cool them. 11% are attributed to embodied carbon released during construction and material manufacturing. To date, the industry’s focus has been on operational emissions and in-use performance. In order to fully de-carbonize by 2050, the sector must also tackle embodied emissions. This concerns the entire building lifecycle and that is where circularity comes in.
Green leadership is a challenge and an opportunity. 'Sustainability isn't a trend,' says Eric Orts, Wharton's Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership. There's an accelerated transition to a sustainable, circular, and future-proof built environment. This transition requires fundamental change in leadership.
