Report 05 · For plumbers across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Tweed Heads

Be found before they find someone else.

Someone in your area types "blocked drain" and their suburb into their phone. Or they ask ChatGPT who to ring. Either way, a handful of names come back, and you are on that list or you are not.

This report looks at what is keeping you off it, and tells you which of those things is worth your effort.

Your Google & AI Search Visibility Report$297 on its own, or free as your first choice. One per plumbing business. No payment details.

Most plumbing websites are invisible for reasons the owner was never told.

It is rarely one dramatic fault. It is usually four or five small ones, stacked.

The site has one page called Services listing everything you do, so it matches nothing in particular when someone searches for one specific job.

The suburbs you actually work in are not named anywhere a search engine can see them — they are in your head and on the side of the van.

The site was built five years ago by someone who has since stopped answering emails, and nothing has been added since.

And now there is a second thing happening. People ask an AI which plumber to use, and it answers by drawing on what it can find written about you. If almost nothing is written about you, it cannot recommend you. It is not being unfair. There is nothing there.

None of that shows up as an error message. The site is up, it looks fine, and it is quietly absent from the places people are looking.

What the interview covers

You talk to an AI assistant for a few minutes. It asks about the business and about this topic in particular. What you say decides what gets looked at.

  • Your website address, and which pages you think matter most
  • The jobs you want more of — and, just as usefully, the jobs you want fewer of
  • The suburbs you genuinely cover, and the ones you would rather not drive to
  • Which competitors keep turning up ahead of you, if you know
  • What has been done before: any SEO you have paid for, and what happened

What you get back

A focused review of your site

Selected pages, your services and your target suburbs — what is there, what is missing, and what is working against you. Written in plain words, not a 60-page export from a tool.

A comparison against the ones showing up

What the plumbers appearing above you have that you do not. Usually more ordinary than people expect, which is the encouraging part.

A prioritised roadmap

Technical, content and AI-search opportunities, in the order worth doing them. With the ones that are not worth your money marked as such.

What this cannot promise, and why I will not pretend otherwise

No position is guaranteed. Not first page, not anywhere. Search results vary by who is searching and where they are standing, and anybody quoting you a position for a business they have not seen is guessing.

Being mentioned in AI answers cannot be guaranteed either. It is newer, it shifts, and nobody controls it.

Visibility work is slow. It builds over months, mostly through other sites mentioning you and through your Google profile, not through one afternoon of edits. If you need the phone to ring next week, this is the wrong report — take the bottleneck one instead.

What you get is a plan and the reasoning behind it, which you can hand to me, to whoever built your site, or to nobody at all.

Two blokes I've done this for. Neither is a plumber — they're cleaners on the Gold Coast — but both were paying for leads before we started, and neither is now.

I sold perfume door to door for five years. I thought I was good at it. I wasn't — what sold the perfume was the fragrance. I turned up and held the bottle.

Your website is supposed to be the fragrance. You're already doing the turning up: the van, the ads, the hours, the callouts at 2am. What's written on that site is the bit that has to do the persuading when you're not in the room.

Two businesses I helped build and sold went on to list on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. I moved to Australia in 2000 and have been building websites and generating leads for local trade businesses for the last ten years.

We used to spend up to $1,200 per week on Google AdWord campaigns for a steady workflow. In a matter of three months Hilton managed to get us ranked in the top position of the Google Map pack for multiple primary keywords, and implemented software that increased our reviews from 18 to over 100. No more AdWords or looking for customers.

I'd been paying for leads from Jim's, HiPages, OneFlare and word of mouth. Hilton promoted my page so that it appears in the Google 3 pack across a wide area for different keywords. This has totally transformed my business — I no longer pay for leads and have withdrawn from both HiPages and OneFlare.

Alan StephensStephens Cleaning Services, Gold Coast

Straight up: neither of those is a plumber — they're cleaners on the Gold Coast. Same game though, and both of them were paying good money for leads before we started.
